Audio Smileys is a cute little application that allows you to play funny sounds to express your feelings. It is mostly targeted for youngsters, but of course, anyone can use it for fooling around with friends, or pulling pranks at co-workers. Once launched, just press keys 1...9 on your keypad to play the sound. In addition, you can create your own audio smileys with the built-in audio smiley editor.

Image Converter Example

This example demonstrates how to use the image conversion APIs available in the S60 platform (Image Conversion Library, ICL). These APIs include important classes, such as CBitmapRotator and CBitmapScaler to be used for rotating and scaling images, respectively. CImageEncoder and CImageDecoder classes are used to access image encoders and decoders available in the ICL. With this example an image can be opened either from the device memory or a memory card (if present). Once opened, the image can be rotated, scaled, and saved in the same or a different format (for example, a JPG image can be converted into a GIF image). The UI of the updated application has been optimized for touch. For example, long taps and tactile feedback are supported. The example project supports building for both S60 5th Edition with touch UI and S60 3rd Edition with a traditional keypad. Important classes: CAknLongTapDetector, MTouchFeedback, CBitmapRotator, CBitmapScaler, CImageEncoder, CImageDecoder, CFbsBitmap, CAknQueryDialog.

Amora: A mobile remote assistant

Don't worry anymore, Amora (A mobile remote assistant) implements control of mouse and most of keyboard shortcuts (ESC, ENTER, SPACE, arrow keys, etc) making easy this task. Not only that, but you can take screenshots of the active window in your current graphic session (i.e. see thumbnails of PC windows in your cellphone screen).

Currently, the client is implemented in Python for S60 (Nokia cellphones) and the server is written in C programming language using Xlib and XTest to send events for X session and POSIX socket API for I/O.

Weather for Series 60 3rd edition

A Weather tracking program for Series 60 devices.

Requires S60 3rd Edition FP1, or better (although only tested on FP1). There is an old version available for 1st and 2nd Editions here.

Weather is a simple application which downloads and displays reports about the current weather conditions for about 6000+ locations all over the world. The reports are provided by the United States National Weather Service, and are in a format called METAR.
The reports themselves are really small (a few hundred bytes usually) so they shouldn't run up your data usage too much.

Calc4M is a calculator for mobile phones

Calc4M is a calculator for mobile phones. It works on phones with CLDC 1.0 and MIPD 2.0 which means most phones from 2004 and later, such as SonyEricsson K700 and Nokia 6230 and later. It is currently tested on SonyEricsson, Nokia and Motorola platforms.

It is configurable and contains most of the normal functions such as trigonometric and logarithmic functions, conversions, constants, memories and binary and hexadecimal notation. The configurations include possibilities to

• display a welcome screen or not
• display the call stack or not
• automatically return to the basic arithmetic screen or not
• use full screen mode or not
• use nice looking button texts or "safe" texts that works in any mobile
• choose from two different keyboard layouts
• select calculation font size
• select default number format (sci/eng/default)
• decide type of "long button press" notification
  

One important thing to note is that most buttons have two functions. Press and hold down the key to access the "secondary" function which is denoted by the bottom right text on the buttons.

Jomtris Xmas Edition for Series60

Jomtris is a "tetris" style of casual game. You handle and remove dropping 4-tile pieces as long as possible and that's it. One game session should take max 5-10 minutes.

The playing field is vertical 10x20 square field, there are different 4-tile pieces dropping down from top and you have to fit them nicely at the bottom. All full rows are removed, to give you some more space to arrange tiles.

You can play either with joystick or keyboard or both at the same time.
